Alhumdulilah, the Sisters held the third weekly meeting for the new book in which we are reading. The Ideal Muslimah. And Alhumdulilah, it was a great choice for our second book.
We may have got a little off topic today, but we learned a lot from one another about one another and about ourselves.
Just to get everyone up to speed:
We are reading Chapter One, "The Muslim Woman and Her Lord"
- We went over the believing woman is alert,
- ... her sincere conviction that whatever happens in this universe, and whatever fate befalls human beings, only happens through the will and decree of Allah; whatever befalls a person could not have been avoided, and whatever does not happen to a person could not have been made to happen."
- We went over the believing woman worships Allah
- " .. she carries out her duties properly without making excuses or compromises , or being negligent.
- Complaining about a situation is like complaining to Allah , as though you know better than he, and what what destined to happen, and is possibly a test to strengthen your faith in him.
- This week we went over the believing woman prays five times a day.
- She prays five time a day
- Seeking his shade five times a day, asking for his forgiveness, asking for his help, seeking his mercy, and guidance. As well as receive the blessings of its means of purification for the soul.
- She may attend Jumma prayer, although her home is better for her to pray in.
- She attends Eid prayers
- She prays Sunnah and Nafl prayers
- She performs her prayers properly.
We discussed the importance of the five daily salah, and the struggles some of us may go through to pray them all, and pray them on time as prescribed.
We discussed some options to get over the difficulty as well as how shaytan works as well in order to distract us from the prayer.
The Muslim woman doe snot limit herself to just the five daily prayers, but also prays those sunnah prayers that the prophet performed as well.
For example. If ones husband were to do only those things in which he was obligated to do, you would love and appreciate him for them. But those things in which he loose to seek your pleasure are those that mean so much to us, because of his intention; they are not out of obligation, but out of love, and that love is the same with Allah (swt) .
